I (obviously) was frustrated at the game but since I beat it I put it down thinking I was done with it. I downloaded this game a couple of years ago and beat it once with a time of around 6 hours. When it comes to negatives… I honestly wouldn’t change a single thing about it. ![]() In fact, I will go as far as to say that this is one of the greatest experiences that I’ve ever had playing a video game. This maybe an homage to another game (similar in gameplay) called “Sexy Climbing”, but Bennett Foddy has put together something with his own original spin and artistic liberties that makes this game differ from it enough. What each section of the game that seemed like an impossible jump or climb, later became just another bump in the road on my journey, because I’ve seen what failure looked and felt like from that before. Every time that I fell from high up, sure I lost plenty of my progress, but I got faster at observing and adapting to my surroundings that it didn’t take me too long to get back to where I originally was. ![]() “Getting Over It” is not just a difficult game to play, but a testament for a player to learn that failure is okay. It is rare for me to come across a game that is excruciatingly challenging, but has a reason for being.
